OFF WITH HER HEAD
Brave mum tells of ordeal at the palace.
In an exclusive interview with our intrepid reporter, Boris Hack, Dr Klara, the eminent explorer and award-winning scientist, reveals that King Josef did make that order for her beheading and that she was held prisoner for FIVE DAYS while daughter Mila was sent to find the infamous Evertrue Emerald, just as we at The Preznovan Echo had reported. The emerald, which sources had claimed belonged to the evil troll Malrook and which rested in the deepest, darkest cave of the ENTIRE Preznovan system, was believed to be cursed, a claim backed by Dr Klara. “It would only ever have brought the king bad luck but he was too selfish to listen to reason. I thought that I was going to die a terrible death in that prison but worse still was the thought that my precious Mila was heading toward a fate worse than death at the hands of that awful troll.” Staff at the palace refuse to comment on Dr Klara’s story despite angry scenes yesterday outside the palace gates.

TREE-SHIFTS SIGHTED IN PREZNOVAN WOODS
Reports have been circulating about the town this week of several sightings of the mysterious entities known only as Tree-shifts. The species, previously believed only to exist in the wild regions, is thought to lure unsuspecting victims into the woods and to swap places with them, turning the miserable victim into a Shift whilst the creature takes their place in the outside world amongst their unsuspecting families. It is claimed that Shifts are behind the disappearance of a number of people in the town. Teresa Zelena, 34, of Cowslip End believes her husband to be one of the afflicted. “He’s hardly said a word to anyone since he got back from his trip to Zilensk. It was a full moon when he went, and I begged him not to go, and then he came back like this! All he ever does is stare at things – he stares at the cows, he stares at the kids – it’s just not natural.” “I’m scared out of my wits,” she added.
In response to these stories Mathilde the witch has offered the families of victims a reversal charm at the reduced rate of only 5 tolar or a similar value exchange. Interested parties may contact Mathilde at the Old Oak in the first instance.
